Hello to all our friends, family and supporters back in the States! We arrived safely yesterday afternoon. Although we had been frustrated by a flight cancellation on Monday, we know that God has big plans for us for this week! After we landed, we bussed up north to Orange Walk to settle in at our hotel, where we had a brief orientation meeting. Next we headed to Carmelita--the village where we are serving! We ate a delicious supper prepared by some wonderful ladies at the church. Several church leaders met us there to prepare for this week and talk about different plans and how we can all work together. They are very welcoming and excited for us to be here! This morning we woke up bright and early and headed to Carmelita to start our vacation bible school! We had almost one hundred children show up! It went awesome. After lunch, we are planning to begin painting the inside and outside of the newly built church here in Carmelita! Pray for good weather, sustained energy, and lots of progress as we dig in and get to work!

Yesterday, after a full morning of vacation bible school, we headed out to the Lamanai Mayan Ruins, for some much needed recreation and relaxation. We scaled to the top of the high temple, over 100 feet! We also saw howler monkeys, and turantulas. God's creation is truly breathtaking! After our recreation activities, we enjoyed a Chinese supper and headed back to our hotel for a time of worship and prayer together. God is truly growing us and stretching us. This is an experience like no other. Today, we held vacation bible school in the morning again. We are starting to really foster real relationships with the kids, as they know us by name now! This afternoon we will be working hard on painting the inside and outside of the Carmelita SDA Church. We have the inside primed and the outside will be started today!
